I've had the priveldge of working with the very calm Kim Mastromartino before, but was so inspired by her son's story. My first to years teaching here at DCDSB, I learned a lot about cochlear implants through a lovely little lady named Kayla. Her everyday struggles outside and wanting to fit in were increasingly becoming more difficult in grade school....but she flourished, and overcame. Hearing Kim clarify more about the cochlear implant and sharing her son's successes was another great testament that: It will all be okay. I love hearing these success stories, fostered by a great passion by our education system to provide the best possible education for these great human beings. |
